The Mekong Business Initiative (MBI), a joint venture between the Government of Australia and the Asian Development Bank, has unveiled a new agricultural startup accelerator program called MATCh: the Mekong Agriculture Technology Challenge. MATCh seeks to enhance the competitiveness, inclusiveness and sustainability of the Mekong Region’s agricultural industry as a leading global supplier of “safe food for all.” It includes two tracks for two different categories of startups. The first is aimed at innovative early stage agritech startups and traditional agriculture business models, while the second is aimed at mature local or international agritech companies looking to expand within the Mekong Region. Participants will have opportunities to win innovation grants, receive mentorship and assistance with their expansion plans, and forge relationships with potential partners and investors. The program will run from October 2017 through to March 2018.
